Yes. There are training routes available for people with little or no previous gas industry experience, but becoming competent to undertake gas work involves structured training, practical experience, and assessment rather than simply completing a short course.
The LCL Awards Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP) provides a structured route for new entrants, combining centre-based theory and practical training with supervised workplace experience.
During the programme, you'll develop your gas engineering knowledge and practical skills while building a portfolio of workplace evidence under appropriate supervision. Successful completion enables you to progress towards ACS Initial Assessments and continue your journey towards Gas Safe registration, subject to meeting the relevant requirements.

For complete beginners, the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (2365-02) provides a strong foundation in electrical science, health and safety, wiring systems, installation methods and practical electrical skills.
From there, learners can progress into further Level 3 training and workplace competence depending on their experience and career goals. The City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (5357) is one route for those working towards installation or maintenance electrician roles.

No. Our electrical renewable energy courses are not designed as entry-level electrical qualifications, and learners must meet the relevant entry requirements before enrolling.
For courses such as Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging, learners will typically need a current Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671 – 18th Edition) alongside a recognised Level 3 electrotechnical qualification, relevant apprenticeship qualification, experienced-worker qualification or accepted equivalent.
A current ECS Gold Card in an accepted electrical occupation may also provide an eligible route, depending on the qualification.
